PADI Instructor Specialities – PADI Instructor Speciality are always a lot of fun.

The PADI Speciality Instructor Training program at Easy Divers Cyprus is designed to teach candidates how to both organize and conduct PADI Specialty training courses, PADI system of diver education, also emphasizing the importance of Specialty Diver training.

The different PADI Specialty Instructor training programs are also often interlinked as a basis for the Master Scuba Diver trainer preparation program or professional scuba internships. By completing these padi specialty instructor-training courses with the course director Joey A. Ridge, instructor candidates only require proof of 10 logged dives in each specialty area compared to 20 logged dives per specialty when doing direct application to PADI.

Diver Education provided by the Course Director (CD) during this program candidates do not require the 25 diver certifications required when applying direct to PADI. Pre-Requisites:

1. Be a renewed PADI Assistant Instructor, PADI Instructor or have completed an IDC or Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program within the past 12 months.
2. Certified PADI Assistant Instructors may participate in PADI Specialty Instructor Training courses prior to attending an OWSI program and PADI Instructor Examination (IE). After successfully completing training, PADI Assistant Instructors may apply for Specialty Instructor certifications in non-diving specialties, such as Equipment Specialist, as long as all other certification requirements are met.
3. For all other Specialty Instructor Training courses, PADI Assistant Instructors must successfully complete an OWSI Program and IE prior to submitting Specialty Instructor applications.
4. Candidates who have successfully completed an IDC/OWSI program, but not an IE, are required to be certified as PADI Assistant Instructors before submitting any Specialty Instructor applications for non-diving specialties.
5. To attend a PADI Enriched Air Instructor Training Course the participant must also:Be certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent (equivalency means trained in the procedures and use of enriched air “nitrox” for no-decompression diving with blends of up to 40 percent oxygen).
6. Complete the PADI Enriched Air Diver course in conjunction with the PADI Enriched Air Instructor Training Course.

A PADI Specialty Instructor dives more, has more fun and teaches about favourite subjects. Don’t see a speciality that interests you? Write your own specialty! It’s easy and it gets you teaching divers about things you like, this if the FUN part and why you probably love diving! . Whether it’s Ice, Deep, Photography, Enriched Air Nitrox or one of your own, PADI Speciality Instructors are out there diving and training.

We all know that everybody who learns to dive does not want to stay an Open Water Diver, they only did the Open Water Course because it was the first step so they could go wreck diving, another way to take pictures underwater and have FUN.

This is a competitive Dive Industry we are in, if you cannot offer these courses to your students, they will finish their Open Water Course with you they will go to someone else your competitor for their training or worse still and not continue diving at all!

Spice up you diving life and give variety, options, choices! Don’t limit your enthusiasm for teaching to just the core PADI courses. Teach your divers what they want to learn, give them fun courses. You do not have to have completed the specialty courses yourself in order to become a PADI Specialty Instructor* because you will learn the skills from our PADI Course Director at Easy Divers Cyprus. Learning with Joey A. Ridge our Padi Course Director means that you will not only learn how to teach specialties, but also pick up some useful tips, tricks and skills that are not found in the outlines.

PADI Instructor Specialty are always a lot of fun. You learn how to conduct courses while having a relaxed and fun days diving yourself! 2 Exceptions to this are PADI Enriched Air Diver and DSAT Gas Blender. Easy Divers have at least 25 PADI Specialities and Instructor Specialities to choose…

1. PADI AWARE Fish ID – This is a must do course if you are taking a trip to the Red Sea, but having said that, you will be surprised how much interest it stirs up if teaching the course in or around the UK.
2. PADI Boat Diver – A great specialty to have up your sleeve when the weather prevents you from completing your planned dive. Teach invaluable information about boat etiquette as well as entry and exit techniques.
3. PADI Deep Diver -This specialty sells itself because most divers want to go a little bit deeper to dive on wrecks.
4. PADI Underwater Navigator Lost, Disorientated, Knowing where you are – underwater – and where you’re going comes in real handy, especially if you’re guiding a dive, looking for an object or locating that beautiful reef that you heard about. program you’ll go on three open water dives familiarizing yourself with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of underwater navigation.
5. PADI Digital U/W Photographer – Everyone seems to have a digital u/w camera these days and most of them would like a little bit of guidance to improve their photos.
6. PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle – This specialty is THE most fun course you will teach. There may or may not be a practical application for using a DPV, but who cares!
7. PADI Drift Diver – Drift diving is great fun in many holiday destinations around the World. Drift diving is the norm. Extra equipment and knowledge of how to use it is essential.
8. PADI Dry Suit Diver – This specialty sells itself in the UK. The outline contains lots of information regarding suit selection, use and care.
9. PADI Enriched Air Diver – The MOST popular PADI specialty.
10. PADI Equipment Specialty – A dry course and brilliant for those cold winter nights to keep divers interest up. It covers all the basics that we expect people to know but never tell them, like how to replace a fin strap. Also a great idea to encourage divers to have their own spares so they don’t keep stealing yours!
11. PADI Multi-level and Computer Diver – This course is brilliant because it brings to life the theory of nitrogen absorption and release and divers know what their computers are telling them and why.
12. PADI Night Diver – A fantastic course to teach. Night diving opens up a whole new world of underwater life to discover. The adventure, thrill and excitement of night diving can be yours when you complete your PADI Night Diver Specialty course. You learn about night dive planning, equipment and navigation. You practice these on three night dives, plus introduce yourself to the whole new cast of critters that comes out after the sun goes down.
13. PADI Emergency Oxygen First Aid – Another dry course. Most people who have learnt how to administer O2 on the Rescue Diver Course will want to do this course because they want to know WHY O2 is so good for divers. Once we know about the physiological benefits of O2 we can make informed decisions regarding O2 administration.
14. PADI Search and Recovery – In the PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course, you learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems. You learn how to locate large and small objects using search patterns, and various ways for lifting them to the surface. Not only do these skills make you more capable and confident in the water, but most Search and Recovery Divers eventually end up searching for and recovering something they lost themselves.
15. PADI U/W Naturalist – Gain knowledge and with this knowledge a greater understanding of the aquatic realm that covers 70% of the worlds surface, and is the cornerstone of life itself, you will be surprised how much interest it stirs up if teaching the course. 16. PADI SMB Diver – Most boat skippers in the UK insist that divers use an SMB (Surface Marker Buoy) so this is a great course to pass on useful tips on SMB deployment and use of reels.
17. Peak Performance Buoyancy – Buoyancy skills separate the good divers from the great divers. In the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you will learn to how to precisely weight yourself for optimum control, poise and balance. You learn to ascend and descend so effortlessly, it seems like you only think about it and it happens. By mastering streamlining, you move through the water cleanly, efficiently and gracefully. You swim near fragile environments without harm to them or yourself.
18. PADI U/W Photographer – For divers who don’t have a digital cameras. You’ll learn the basics of underwater photography such as composition, film type and camera handling, with special emphasis on practical techniques. You’ll learn underwater photography dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You’ll also learn how to care for and maintain your camera equipment.
19. PADI U/W Videographer – Simple filming techniques will turn amateur film clips into enjoyable and watchable video Steven Spielberg eat your heart out.
20. PADI Wreck Diver – The purpose of the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving on wrecks.
21. DSAT Nitrox / Trimix Gas Blender course – The DSAT Gas Blender course will train you as a qualified gas blender, allowing you to provide gas mixes to appropriately certified consumers. You’ll learn the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements and what cleaning equipment is necessary. Finally, you will learn the five methods of obtaining the desired enriched air nitrox mix and the various methods used to obtain proper helium mixes.
22. Padi Sidemount Diving Instructor - Sidemount is a different way to approach diving. Your back is not strapped to a metal plate and it does not have a big metal cylinder – or two of them – keeping it from flexing. It is a comfortable way to dive, and it allows a diver a lot more scope to move around and avoid entanglements. Once you have tried diving side mounted cylinders you will never dive in twins sets again.
23. TecRec Technical Instructor – If you’re serious about becoming a technical instructor and joining the ranks of PADI technical instructors, the DSAT – Padi TecRec Instructor Course is an obvious choice. The PADI Tec Deep Instructor course is for existing Padi Instructors allowing them to teach courses Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 in professional and safe approach to technical diving. The course begins with basic training skills with additionally assisting techniques philosophies designed to let you developed your instructor capabilities.

PADI Dive Instructors: The dive industry seems to prefer dive instructors for dive employment from the MSDT level and higher professional diver level. Although it is possible to achieve scuba dive jobs directly from an IDC (Instructor Development Course), dive employers are more likely to offer a dive position to a diver that has more experience and more specialities under their belts. The MSDT scuba diving rating displays that the dive instructor has good experience teaching diving (At least 25 certifications).
